Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how LivHome Workspace ("Service", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Tool calculations and conversions mainly run in the browser. This does not mean the page makes no network requests. Authentication, optional sync, advertising, analytics and certain lookups or remote resources have the separate data flows described below. Basic tools do not require sign-in.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and Google account identifier (google_subject_id).

Information generated automatically

  • User ID, account creation date, account update date, and last login date are generated and stored on our server.

The Google sign-in script may load before you press the sign-in button. We send the Google ID token to the site API for authentication and reuse a stored token to check the current session. Account information is stored in the server's PostgreSQL database.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for:

  • User identification and authentication
  • Service usage record management
  • Service improvement and operation

Data Storage and Security

Your account data (email, Google account identifier, timestamps) is stored in a PostgreSQL database on our server. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Identity Services: We use Google's authentication service for login. Google's Privacy Policy applies to data processed by Google during authentication.
  • Google AdSense: In the production environment, Google AdSense scripts are loaded for advertising purposes. Google may set cookies for ad personalization. You can manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager: Production pages are configured to load these scripts for visit and usage analysis and tag management.
  • Google Drive: If you choose to connect and grant access, the optional settings sync described below is available.

Google services may process the visited URL, IP address, cookies and other request or usage information according to their settings and policies. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google's Privacy Policy.

Optional Google Drive settings sync

Signing in and connecting Drive are separate choices. The requested drive.appdata permission covers the application's hidden appDataFolder, not unrestricted access to ordinary Drive files. The Drive access token is held in page memory, not persisted in browser storage.

The livhome-settings.json file contains favorites, up to three recent tools, theme, a format version and an update timestamp. Tool lists include identifiers, paths, title/description display metadata, icons and added dates where present. Entered JSON/JWT/calculator values, generated results, login tokens, saved roulette sets and custom date formats are not included.

You can upload or download manually. With auto-sync enabled, acquiring a Drive connection downloads settings and changes to favorites, recent tools or theme trigger a debounced upload. The browser communicates directly with the Google Drive API. See Google's application data folder guide for its scope and data controls.

Local Storage

We do not set cookies directly. Instead, we use your browser's localStorage to store:

  • Google ID token (for session persistence)
  • Favorites list
  • Recently used tools list
  • Theme preference (light/dark mode)
  • Drive auto-sync preference
  • Sidebar collapsed state
  • Names and format strings for custom date formats
  • Named roulette sets, including choices, weights, draw settings and set metadata

You can clear localStorage through browser settings, or delete roulette sets in the tool. Resetting a tool clears its current work; it does not also erase unrelated preferences or saved sets.

If an ISA chart fails to load and you choose to retry, the calculator briefly preserves its inputs in that tab's navigation history state before reloading. The draft is not added to the URL or sent to a server or Drive. Recovery removes the temporary state, and drafts older than five minutes are not restored.

Tool usage events contain a tool identifier, the outcome of a run, copy or download, a fixed error category, language and a coarse duration. Empty searches record a result count of zero. These events exclude input, search queries, financial amounts, generated results, keys and share-link contents. Page metadata for this event path uses the canonical page address and title and the referring origin. Other collection by Google tags depends on service settings and Google policies.

Analytics may use cookies or usage identifiers. See Analytics data safeguards and Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. Turning off ad personalization or opting out of Analytics does not stop every other request, such as authentication or Drive sync.

Share links and optional requests

New Markdown, timezone and roulette links store documents or settings in the URL fragment after #. A fragment is not included in an HTTP page request, but page scripts, browser history and link recipients can read it. Encoding or compression is not encryption.

D-Day titles/dates/themes, shared custom date formats and legacy timezone/roulette links use query parameters after ?. These are sent with the initial page request and may appear in server logs or browser history. A client-side upgrade of an old link does not undo its original request. Do not include secrets in shared content.

  • Timezone search sends the query, language and result limit to the site API.
  • The fortune cookie sends the selected language to the site API to request a stored message.
  • Fetching a JSON Schema URL requests the address you provide.
  • Remote Markdown images may request their image host when displayed. They use a no-referrer policy, which does not prevent the image request itself.
  • Some icons may be fetched from the Iconify API. External resource hosts receive the requested address and ordinary network information.

Copied output goes to the clipboard; downloaded output goes to the file location you choose. Meeting .ics export creates a local file without creating an online calendar event or sending invitations.

Problem-report email drafts

Report opens your email app with a draft containing the tool ID, tool path without query or fragment, language and a predefined error category. It does not automatically attach input, output, files or tokens, or send the email. If you review, add content and send it, the operator receives your email address and the content you send.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion request, we will promptly delete your data, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request restriction of processing

Account deletion requests removal of the server account record. Logout clears this browser's login token and in-memory Drive token and disables auto-sync. Neither action automatically deletes other local preferences such as favorites or roulette sets, or the settings file in Drive. Manage local data in your browser and Drive app data or permissions through Google's controls separately.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page at least 7 days before changes take effect.
