About Create D-Day

The D-Day Countdown is a free, browser-based tool that shows the days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until (or passed since) a date you choose, and lets you share it with a link. Everything runs in your browser, so your event details never leave your device.

It displays a live countdown that updates every second, showing D-minus for upcoming dates, D-Day on the day itself, and D-plus for dates that have passed. Each countdown carries an event name and a seasonal theme, making it easy to track anniversaries, exams, trips, launches, or any milestone.

The event date, label, and theme are encoded into the page URL, so opening a shared link instantly recreates the same countdown for anyone you send it to. Use the share button to copy the current link, or follow the create link to set up a new D-Day on the date calculator.

All calculations happen locally in your browser against your device clock, with no account or upload required. The countdown reflects your own time zone, and motion effects are reduced automatically if your system prefers reduced motion.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create and share my own D-Day?
Use the create link to open the date calculator, set your event name, date, and theme, then generate a shareable link. Anyone who opens that link sees the same countdown without signing in.
Does the countdown keep running after the date passes?
Yes. Once the target date has passed, the display switches to D-plus and counts up the time elapsed since the event instead of counting down.
Is my event information stored anywhere?
No. The date, label, and theme live only in the page URL and are processed in your browser, so nothing is saved on a server or tied to an account.
